On monday the school did lots of science activities to celebrate science week.
The main activity was seen in Neptune and Mercury class where they did some fun activities.
Activity one was to build a boat out of plasticine and then to test the boat the children added pennies. The best boat was the one that held most pennies. The winner was Sayyaad in Neptune class, his boat held over 100 pennies.
The next activity was design a track using k'nex to try and keep a marble rolling as long as possible. The best track kept the marble rolling for nearly 10 seconds.
The children were also ask to think about why their designs worked or not.
The final experiment saw children testing how many drops of a liquid a penny could hold. they tested both water and washing up liquid.
To finish the day off we had a science brainiacs quiz.
We will be doing lots more science experiements to help improve our science knowledge.

There were volcanic eruptions all over Croft Community Primary School last Thursday. But luckily that was due to the year 5 science club designing their own volcanos while looking at new substances that are made through irreversible changes.
All the year 5 children have been enjoying the weekly science club where they learn about science in a fun way. Thanks to Mrs Walker who makes these lessons so much fun.
