Sports Cricket
Wednesday 12th July saw 10 children represent the school in the Wasall Cricket Festival. They represented the school very well.
For each game 8 children were chosen. 6 boys and 2 girls.
The first game saw 8 of the children in action against a St. Annes team. Croft won the first game by 20 runs scoring a total of 253 runs.
The second game saw Croft lose to Leighswood school by 30 runs. They were a very good side and the score would have been a lot closer if Croft had held their catches.
The thrid and final game in the group stage was against St. Francis School. Croft won this game by 30 runs, the whole team did their job superbly.
Unfortunatly the children missed out on a semi-final spot as they had not scored enough runs.
In the 5th place play off, Croft started strongly taking a couple of early wickets. When it came to batting we scored 30 runs of the last two overs, meaning we won the game and came 5th overall.
All the children enjoyed the very warm day and some are looking forward to improving next year.
