Saturn Class

Saturn Class at the Leather Museum.
Saturn class visited the Leather Museum in Walsall for a very eventful day.

The children got a chance to see the history of the Walsall leather trade. Meeting some of the staff and looking at the various tools that was used, the children were able to get a feel of the importance that leather played in Walsall's History.

The children were split into two groups.

The first group had a look at making their own leather key rings, using some very special equipment. They chose their own design for their key rings.

The other group had to use their own skills to produce their very own leather purse.  With needle and thread ready all the children and even some of the staff started to sew in order to make their purse.

Everybody enjoyed the day.

Well done Saturn for representing the school so well.

Photographs will be added soon to this story. Keep a look out. # Posted by Mr. Prosser at 28/3/06; 1:23:43 PM to the Saturn Class dept.
