Creating Graphs and Interpreting Data

Communicating and Cooperating

The children in Mercury class had great fun doing this task and even more exciting was the fact they were joined by their parents.

They had to cooperate and communicate with eachother deciding the best way in which to build a tower out of newspapers that was strong enough to hold a tennis ball. The biggest tower that held the tennis ball was the winning tower.

Both the parents and the children looked very proud of their efforts. They were all determined to come up with the best towers.

Even a couple of the staff got involved although I think the children had wished they didn't bother. The picture on the left shows a good tower developing, whereas a little bit of help from Mrs Hussain and it all wants to fall over

        broken tower                               tower 3

Some towers broke, but whereas before some people would hav given up they were determined to build a bigger and better one. We even had some towers that were designed to be like famous towers from around the world - the picture on the right is the leaning tower of newspaper.

Here is a picture of all the people who took part in the competition.

Many thanks to all the parents who turned up for the event, your attendance really made it more exciting.
