Jupiter Class
Jupiter class have been doing all about light and sounds in science this term.
The children tried different coloured liquids to see if they let light pass through them or not. Or as Jupiter describes it are they transparent, translucent or opaque?
They found that the lighter the liquid the more light they could see. But what do you think happened with milk? You may have to ask whether they could see the light through the milk.
They have made a fantastic display of their findings. I even heard a few of them were doing some home testing and found some translucent, transparent and opaque liquids in the home. Poor dad, all he wanted to do was drink his cup of tea.
And on that farm he had Jupiter class - Ee-i-ee-i-o
With their good behaviour here
And good behaviour there
Here good behaviour, there good behaviour
Everywhere good behaviour
Old McDonald had a farm - Ee-i-ee-i-o
Jupiter visited the farm for the day and they had great fun. The all loved the different farm animals, they saw cows, sheep, chickens and pigs.
They had the chance to feed some of the animals, all the animals enjoyed being fed by the children in Jupiter class.
They even got chance to see some of the young animals, including lambs and piglets. They looked so cute I think some of the staff wanted to take them home.
The main aim for the trip was to look at the differences between life in a town like Walsall and living in the countryside, the visit is going to help them do lots of work in the classroom.
They had an excellent day and behaved so well. Well done Jupiter class.
Don't worry we have not found extra terrestial life form on the planet Jupiter and phoned out for a pizza to be delivered. Instead Jupiter class at Croft have been making their own pizzas.
A very tricky process is pizza making, you wouldn't believe what they had to do.
First they had to go to Sainsburys to buy the ingrediants. They very sensibly walked from school to the shop, chose the ingrediants, paid for them and walked back to school. Very sensible Juptier class - well done.
Then in afternoon they put all their delicious ingredients onto the pizza base - cheese, tomato, onion, mushroom and much more.
The next morning the pizzas were then put into a special oven and cooked ready for when the children came into school. They smelled delicious, look delicious and if you ask Jupiter they will tell you they tasted delicious.
They used the pizza experience to do some fantastic writing. Have a look at the excellent display with instructions on how to make a pizza - its that easy even the techers will be cooking them .
They enjoyed activities such as packing their suitcases ready for their holidays, checking in at the airport, picking up their tickets and waiting in the departure lounge.
Their favourite part of the trip sitting on a real aeroplane. Some lucky children also got the chance to pretend they could fly the aeroplane.
They had a wonderful day out.
