Heart of the Community
Croft Community Primary School is a multi cultural school in the centre of Walsall. At Croft we celebrate our different beliefs and learn to work together as a team.

The school is busy working to raise standards in children's attainment. We have started a writing project where all the classes in the school are busy writing lots of things.
We started with writing some instruction so that we could all eave the building safely during a fire bell.
Next we wrote a persuasion letter to an entertainer called Dr. Kenn. We are hoping he will come into school to entertain us as a treat for all the hard work we have done so far.
This week we are busy looking at traditional tales and re-writing the tales into our own words.
Next week we are going to be writing recount, who knows we might enjoy Dr. Kenn's show that much we will write a recount of it for all to read.
In the final two weeks we will be working on our story writing. We will have lots of budding storytellers in the school
With all the writing that is happening it will improve the children's work. Keep a look out on the website, I am hoping to get some of the best work in the school put on here for all to see.
It has taken year 5 many weeks to design, make and paint the boards. They had to choose a design, paper mache the board and then finally paint over the top.
Have a look at the boards — they go in order to show where healthy foods come from.
We get milk from a cow, which is then bottled for us and if we want we can use the milk to make a delicious milk shake with fresh fruit - which is very healthy for us.
Have a look at the other healthy senarios, including potatos and peas.
The children also got chance to try partner skipping. Back to back, facing each other and side by side.
Finally in assembly the children got chance to show what they had learnt in the day and got a special demonstration of ‘freestyle’ skipping from one of the countries top skippers. They were really impressed by the speed skipping where she jumped nearly 90 times in just 30 seconds.
Everybody enjoyed this fantastic day and the school has even started its own skipping club.
Come and have a look!
