Mrs Wright's ICT Clubs
The whole school has benefitted from a new ICT assistant. Mr Prosser's hair is starting to grow back and more importantly the children are getting lots of chance to use ICT in the school through clubs and specialist lessons. I have even persuaded Mrs Wright to put some of the best pieces of work on the website, so keep a look out. .. # Posted by Mr. Prosser at 9/5/08; 10:27:12 AM to the dept.

Mr. Bean Inspires Croft

For all his faults Mr. Bean has really inspired the children at Croft this week. THe work has been excellent and the quality has really impressed the staff doing the Easter school. Well done everyone.

In groups of three the children produced thier own sketches of Mr. Bean. They had to imagine the different senarios Mr. Bean would find himself in school.

This video is Mr. Bean as head teacher meeting a visitor in the school when he was rudely interupted by a child playing a prank.

All the videos are great and I will put them all on the website. # Posted by Mr. Prosser at 3/4/08; 11:18:14 AM to the dept.

Genious or Just Plain Cheating?
When ask the children to research Mr. Bean's car Tuejar came up with a fantastic answer, well done Tuejar. But then I found out Tuejar had posted the question on Yahoo and got other people to do the hard work for him.

Here is the answer Tuejar used.

You can add your answer too by visiting www.answers.yahoo.com and looking for the question.

by ukautos Member since: August 15, 2006 Total points: 2386 (Level 3) mini

Mr. Bean's car, a late 1970s MK IV British Leyland Mini 1000, developed a character of sorts. At first, an orange 1969 Morris Mini MK II (registration RNT 996H, although the body of the car was actually from an MK1 car of 1963/64) was Mr. Bean's vehicle of choice, but this was destroyed in a crash at the end of the first episode. From then on, the car was a 1977 model (registration SLW 287R), luminous lime green in colour with a black bonnet. It made its first appearance in "The Curse of Mr. Bean".

Mr. Bean's Mini. The Mini was central to several antics, such as Mr. Bean getting dressed in it while driving or steering it while sitting in an armchair strapped to the roof. It also had a number of innovative security measures; Mr. Bean fitted the door with a bolt-latch and padlock, rather than use the lock fitted on the car, and he always removed the steering wheel instead of the key, which formed a running joke in several episodes, at one point deterring a car thief. In Mr. Bean Rides Again, he also hid the ignition key under the car bonnet, the key for the bonnet was kept in the boot, the key for the boot was attached to the sun visor above the driver's seat. The key to the car door was the only key Bean kept with him. The car, confused with another demonstration car of the exact same model (registration ACW 497V), was crushed by a tank in "Back to School, Mr. Bean", but returned in later episodes, perhaps having actually been the identical demonstration car from that point on.

The Mini is often seen in conflict with a light blue Reliant Regal Supervan III, (registration GRA 26K), which will usually get tipped over, crashed into, bumped out of its parking space and so forth. This conflict originated in the first episode, when the three-wheeler held his Mini up on the way to a mathematics exam, and subsequently became a running joke throughout the series.

One of the original Mr. Bean Minis is on display at the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum in Keswick, northern England.[12] Both the Mini and the Reliant re-appeared as characters in the animated Mr. Bean cartoons, and in the film Mr. Bean's Holiday yet another Mini appears – a lighter yellow/green than the original, registration YGL 572T. Also seen is a French version of his Mini, owned by the character Sabine which wears a Paris registration and is left hand drive. In the animated series his Mini's registration plate number is STE 952R. 5 minutes ago

Recount from the Boy's Point of View.
Now for the boy's point of view.
It has been a great exercise looking at three different points of view about one sequence. Each of the characters was thinking something different in the sequence. # Posted by Mr. Prosser at 2/4/08; 10:46:30 AM to the dept.

Writing a Recount.
We watched part of the film where the man filmed Mr.
Bean getting onto the train and then he missed the train leaving Mr. Bean in care of his son. We split into three groups, Mr. Bean, the man and the boy and wrote recounts from the different characters point of view. Here is a recount from Elisha who wrote pretending she was the man. # Posted by Mr. Prosser at 2/4/08; 10:34:40 AM to the dept.

We Bean Busy Bees at Easter School.
The children are working so hard at Easter school. They have been using the laptops to produce excellent work on a variety of programs including word, publisher and powerpoint. They have also had to use their research skills on the internet. I can't wait for tomorrow when we get to see their very own Mr. Bean style sketches.

Comprehending Mr. Bean
Each day we have watched a clip of Mr.
Bean and then answered questions about what we have seen. Today we watched the part where Mr. Bean accepts a lift in a Mini Cooper to help him get to the Cannes film festival. Here are Bethany's answers and she has also challenged you to answer the extension questions. You can do this by using the discuss/comment button - sensible answers will get rewarded when you return to school. # Posted by Mr. Prosser at 1/4/08; 11:06:37 AM to the dept.

Who is Mr. Bean?

A great place to start Who is Mr.

Bean?

We wtached part of the film and looked at his characteristics. There were some great sentences, my favourite being

"Mr Bean is almost as funny as Mr. Prosser".

I think thats means I am really funny, but the other staff have informed me in fact it means I clumsier, sillier and a big fool. Great! I think I will listen to the children's opinons.

Here is a piece of work from Saddaf.

Who is Mr. Bean.

What's Bean Going on at Croft this Easter?
Easter School is back this year. 20 pupils, 5 members of staff and the whole project is based on Mr. Bean. It's going to be great fun. The whole project is being done on computers and includes writing drama and the grand finale will be the pupils producing their own Mr. Bean sketches which should include some great. I wonder what trouble Mr. Bean could get into around the school grounds. Keep your eye out on the
